SAINT PAUL, Minn., March 21, 2016 – Festival of Nations, Minnesota’s largest multi-cultural celebration, returns to Saint Paul RiverCentreThursday, May 5 through Sunday, May 8. Thousands of students will experience the festival on Thursday and Friday during the day, and the Festival will be open to the public Friday afternoon through Sunday.

During the three public days, Festival of Nations invites people of all ages to think global and eat local with friends and family. The festival brings together people from a vast array of backgrounds to celebrate their ethnic heritage, learn about other cultures and enjoy great food. Through exhibits, food, music, dance, and personal connections, Festival of Nations provides a look into the traditions, history and journey of over 90 ethnic groups, and sheds light on how each one contributes to the American cultural landscape.

New this year, the festival will focus on Folklore and Fairytales from many cultures. Saturday morning will be filled with family-friendly programming including youth dance performances, storytellers, and puppet shows. Saturday night will feature programming that explores the darker side of folklore and fairytale.  Meet such characters as Krampus from Austria and the Abominable Snowman (Yetti) from Tibet and enjoy performances by Heart of the Beast puppet theater and other groups.
