While this year feels so different I am so impressed with the creativity with businesses and communities to adapt and adjust to our current situation. Below I listed many fun events and activities for your family. Enjoy! πŸŽƒ


Pumpkin Pursuit in the Parks @ Springbrook Nature Center, October 16 from 9 am - 6 pm

Pumpkin Pursuit in the Park is an interactive, team scavenger hunt that takes place throughout the entire Fridley Parks system.

Pumpkin Pursuit in the Parks will take place over MEA weekend (normally we would be running Pumpkin Night in the Park, which we're really bummed we can't do this year....) October 16-17. The cost to register your team of up to 8 people is $25!

πŸŽƒ Rocky's Pumpkin Patch at Sand Creek Park (Coon Rapids), October 17 from 10 am - 1 pm

Come to Sand Creek Athletic Complex to enjoy the Coon Rapids Community Strength Foundation Pumpkin Patch! Receive a free pumpkin and learn about local organizations that serve youth in the community. Limit 1 pumpkin per child age 12 and under*.
This event will be a drive-thru event. Volunteers will hand out pumpkins and goodie bags. Participants do not need to leave their cars. Thank you for your patience as volunteers work to adjust activities based upon the guidelines in place surrounding gatherings.
*note - this is a change from what was printed in the Fall edition of the Coon Rapids Connection City Newsletter. It said one pumpkin per family in that publication, but thanks to great support, this has now been extended to one pumpkin per child age 12 and under.


πŸŽƒ Virtual Dia de los Muertos: A Kit Based Arts and Culture Class with the Columbia Heights Library, October 17 from 3-4 pm

Join the library and HeightsNEXT for a crafting and cultural celebration in honor of Mexico’s Day of the Dead. We will create a painted skull craft and paper marigolds. In order to participate in this class, you must register and then plan to pick up your supplies kit at Columbia Heights Public Library the week prior to the program. The program will be presented virtually. Registrants will be emailed an invitation link prior to the start of the class. You will need an Internet enabled device or computer to participate via Zoom Meetings. Register here

πŸ‚πŸŽƒ FALL. FAMILY. FUN @ Eveland Family Farm (Andover), October 24 at 11 am

Come join me at Eveland Family Farm in Andover for an afternoon of fun at the pumpkin patch! My way of saying THANK YOU to all my clients both past and present. By registering you get free admittance to the farm and a voucher to use inside! Eveland Family Farm offers many great activities including hayrides and farm animal!

πŸŽƒ Trick or Treat at First Lutheran in Columbia Heights, October 29 from 4-6 pm

You are invited to Trick or Treat at the 9 outside doors of First Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights. All ages can dress up and walk around our church getting candy, listen to spooky live Organ music, and interact with neighbors from a safe social distance. It will be a fun all ages activity and neighbors are welcome to join. Costumes encouraged...masks required.
We also need all ages volunteers to hand out candy (socially distanced) at each of the church's 9 main doors! You are welcome to decorate your doors with spooky decorations! Contact Nathan Roberts nathan@flcch.org to volunteer


🎞 Drive-in Movie: Coco (Rated PG) at Maple Grove LIfeTime in grassy area near the front, October 30 from 5-9 pm

Join us on Friday, October 30 for a Drive-in Movie! We’ll be screening “Coco at sunset. Admission will be $20/car, register at bit.ly/OctoberMovieMG
The parking will be open at at 5:00pm and the movie begins at sunset. Drive in movie will take place in the grassy area in front of Maple Grove LifeTime, address is 12601 82nd Ave. N.E. Maple Grove, MN 55369.


πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ•· Everything We Missed: Trunk-or-Treat @ the Maple Grove Community Center, October 31 from 1-4 pm

This Halloween we invite your family out for an afternoon of Trunk-or-Treating in the Maple Grove Community Center parking lot from 1-4pm! We will be revisiting some of the holidays and events that have not been given the celebration they deserve this year.
Due to COVID-19, we will require all volunteers and businesses/ organizations to wear a face mask while handing out pre-packaged goodies. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND all participants to wear face coverings as well.
This is a free event and no online- registration is required. We hope to see you there!


πŸŽƒ Halloween at Metta Coffee Cafe (Andover), October 31 from 12-4 pm

Come celebrate Halloween with Metta!  We wanted to do something family-friendly for our favorite holiday so we are throwing a party.  From 12pm to 4pm stop by and grab a goodie bag from our dressed up staff, takes some fall themed pictures, play a game, grab some free cider, and show off your costumes! @Mauloasweets will be there for some cookie decorating fun and we are giving away some of her custom mini cookies in our goodie bags! And of course we will still have all of our beverages and full menu available.

*Our staff will follow all of our covid guidelines. We ask that all attending wear a mask when not eating or drinking. We are only allowed 30 people at a time inside and 4 people per table(6 people if all in a family group), at least 6 feet apart.


πŸŽƒ Fall Fest! at Life Assembly Church (Maple Grove), October 31 from 1-4 pm

Join us this October 31st for Fall Fest at Life Assembly Church in Maple Grove! This is a FREE outdoor family event that will have a PETTING ZOO, FREE LUNCH, and CARNIVAL GAMES. Refuge of Hope is hosting a Fall Festival on Saturday, October 31st from 1pm - 4pm.  
We understand the concerns due to the current pandemic we are facing, so we will offer the option to drive up and pick up goodie bags for children, without having to get out our your vehicle.  
We will have games and prizes, as well as a craft project that can be done safely while social distancing.  
We are excited to be able to serve our community, and we really hope you can make it out and enjoy some fun family time.

Creative Church's brand new 36,000 square feet facility is open to the community for this special indoor trick-or-treat event for all kids. Lot's of sealed, safe, individually wrapped candy to be given away, and safe, social distancing. Make sure to register (it's free) before capacity is filled.

Maple Grove Senior High Musical Theatre is hosting our first-ever drive-through trick-or-treating event - "MG Street of Treats" - bring your little superheroes and goblins to have a car side visit from some costumed characters and have some treats!
